Best Paper Award at the XXXI JENUI (Conference on University Teaching of Computer Science)

This July, the XXXI Conference on University Teaching of Computer Science (JENUI 2025) was held in Valladolid. During the conference, Pablo Gutiérrez and Professor Antonio Calvo Morata won the Best Paper award for their article “Experiencia gamificando una asignatura mediante mecánicas de juegos deckbuilding” (“Experience gamifying a subject using deckbuilding game mechanics”).

Pablo and Antonio presented their experience gamifying a subject of the Video Game Development Degree during the academic year 2024/25. Before the conference, their work was nominated as one of the best proposals and was presented during the best papers session, finally being awarded as a result of the AENUI assembly held during the congress.

Professors Cristina Alonso Fernández, Pablo Gutiérrez Sánchez and Antonio Calvo Morata attended the conference, also participanting in the workshop “Using Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education. Principles and Dilemmas”.

The conference was extremely interesting, where Generative AI played a leading role in many of the presentations.

At the closing of the event, it was announced that JENUI 2026 will be held in Barcelona from July 8 to 10, 2026.
