JustShare: an initiative to raise awareness among young people about the risks of sharing personal information online
Madrid, June 9, 2026. – As part of the 2nd Meeting of Innovative Faculties in Quality and Improvement of Education, held at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) during the educational innovation conference organized by the DIM-EDU Educational Network, JustShare was presented. JustShare is a serious game designed to raise awareness among young people about the risks associated with overexposure of personal information on the Internet and social media. The initiative was presented by Carlos Tribaldo, principal of IES CARPE Diem in Fuenlabrada, and Baltasar Fernández Manjón, professor at the School of Computer Science at the Complutense University of Madrid and director of the Telefónica–Complutense Chair in Digital Education and Serious Games.
JustShare aims to foster a culture of responsible use of the technology and strengthen the digital skills needed to protect their privacy, security, and digital identity. The proposal encourages reflection on the risks of indiscriminately sharing personal information on social media, digital platforms, and other online environments. The game provides a shared classroom experience that allows the teacher to then lead a discussion with students about their specific online practices.
During the presentation, the need for students to understand the potential consequences of the digital footprint created by their online activities was emphasized, as well as the importance of developing safe habits and a critical mindset when it comes to managing their personal data.
The presentation was part of a program focused on innovative approaches and best practices in education, during a conference that brought together teachers, researchers, and experts committed to improving education and the responsible use of digital technologies.
